GIANTS WEEK 10 FANTASY RESULTS

Andre BrownThe fantasy experts were modestly confident in Andre Brown heading into Week 10.

Brown made his season debut against the Raiders on Sunday after breaking his leg in the preseason. And with David Wilson placed on injury reserve and Brandon Jacobs sidelined with injuries for the third week in a row, Brown was projected to finish as the league’s No. 30 running back.

GIANTS WEEK 10 FANTASY RANKINGS

No. 30? Maybe. No. 27 as CBS Sports predicted? Possibly. But top five?

Brown picked up 17.9 fantasy points, the most of any Giants running back this season, and finished as the league’s No. 5 runner with 115 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. He had never carried the ball 30 or more times in his NFL career and his 115 yards were also a career-high.

Not bad for a player who hadn’t played in a regular season game in nearly a year.

“You can’t think about or dwell on the past with an injury,” said Brown, who broke the same leg last season and was placed on IR on Nov. 26.  “Just have to go in and continue to move forward and remain positive. Don’t look back. If I looked back at all the injuries I had, I probably wouldn’t be here right now. Just move forward and keep working.”

But its hard to stick by a run-first gameplan down by multiple scores.

The Giants defense, which had not finished higher than No. 20 in Weeks 1 through 6, picked up 15 points and finished as the league’s No. 3 unit for the second week in a row.

“Right now our focus is pretty good and we’re playing together as a football team,” defensive end Justin Tuck said after the Giants’ victory over Oakland. “It wasn’t pretty today but when is it? As long as we stay together as a football team and continue to support each other, we’ll be fine.”

QUOTABLES

“We’re a team that’s going out there and we’re fighting extremely hard to get a win at all costs. It’s not always going to be pretty but we’re going out there and competing, we’re overcoming adversity. Have we yet to be in sync with all three phases of the game? Absolutely not. I think there’s still a lot of great ball that we’re leaving out there on the field but right now we’re winning and that’s the only thing we can ask for in this league.” -S Antrel Rolle
