NFC EAST MIDSEASON FANTASY STANDINGS

Giants Eagles FootballThe Giants still have four division games remaining schedule and have plenty of time to gain ground in the fantasy football standings. But as of midseason, none of the team’s players are atop the NFC East in fantasy points scored at their respective positions.

In fact, no Giant player finished among the top two.

Victor Cruz picked up 91.7 fantasy points through his first nine games, the tenth-most of any receiver in the league. But he finished No. 3 in the division behind Philadelphia’s DeSean Jackson and Dallas’ Dez Bryant. Jackson, No. 2 in the league, has 118.3 points and Bryant, No. 3, has 116.6. Jackson and Bryant have played an extra game though with bye weeks still on their team’s schedules

On average, Cruz picks up 11.5 fantasy points per game while Jackson averages 13.1 and Bryant averages 13.

Fellow receiver Rueben Randle led the Giants in receiving in Weeks 5, 6 and 7 and has 59.3 points, the seventh-most in the division. In Week 5 against the Eagles, Randle scored 21.6 points and finished as the league’s No. 5 receiver. At the midpoint of the season, Randle sits at No. 39 among the league’s pass-catchers. Hakeem Nicks isn’t far behind at No. 52.

Quarterback Eli Manning finished fourth among quarterbacks, trailing Philadelphia’s Michael Vick by 4.72 points. Tight end Brandon Myers and the Giants’ defense also finished at the bottom of the division.

QUOTABLES

“I remember after a win versus Philly, I was like Dallas is going to win, and then they lost with 30 seconds left and I was shocked.  I was happy in that moment.  Minnesota played them tough and I wish they would have got the W, but it doesn’t affect us at all.  We can’t control what they do.  All we control is us.  Hopefully we get some help down the road, but right now, we’re focused on the Raiders.” -CB Terrell Thomas
