Fantasy 101 brings you the latest fantasy football news from around the league.
Mike Tolbert RB Panthers
Last week: 36 yards, TD
Tolbert now has four touchdowns in his last four games. He will face a Buccaneers team that hasn’t won a game (0-6). Although Tampa Bay’s rushing defense has been consistently good all season (88.8 yards per game allowed), Carolina’s rushing game ranks seventh (130 yards per game) in the NFL. Tolbert just has to worry about gaining two or three yards in order to get a touchdown if he’s feeling lucky. Start him while he matters.
Mike Williams WR Buccaneers
Last week: 4 catches, 32 yards
Like most of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers players, Williams has had more downs than he has had ups this season. Scoring two touchdowns in five games and having no 100-yard games thus far this season, Williams has seen better starts. With Vincent Jackson starting to really tear it up (19 catches, 252 yards, and four touchdowns in last two games), there should be plenty of opportunities for Williams to fly under the radar and get a valuable start against the Carolina Panthers tonight.
Greg Olsen TE Panthers
Last week: 4 catches, 47 yards
Olsen has only scored one touchdown all season. With his best game coming in Week 2 (seven catches, 84 yards and a touchdown), he has yet to find the end zone since. However, the targets have been somewhat consistent with 27 catches on the season. Look for Olsen to step it up against a Buccaneers defense giving up 252 passing yards per game, ranking 18th in the league.
