THOMAS FEELS LIKE A ROOKIE AGAIN

Cornerback Terrell Thomas took to his blog (www.terrellthomas24.com) on Tuesday, thanking his fans, doctors, trainers and the Giants’ medical staff for helping him through his third knee injury this past year.

He also shed light on what we can expect to see from him as training camp opens up this weekend. While the plan is to start off slow, Thomas believes he can be an X factor this season. Below is a portion of what he wrote:

“The Giants have a great plan for me this upcoming season; we are going to start off slow like counting my reps and going in that direction.  I am excited about camp starting this week, I feel like a big question mark on defense and I love it. That makes me feel like a rookie again, nobody knows what to expect from me other than that I was a good player.  Just like when I was coming into the league as a good player coming out of college, so I love that feeling.

“I feel like I am the X factor for the defense, I think I can be a big key for our defense this year as far as my physical play combined with my knowledge, communication and leadership skills.  I truly don’t care if I play corner, nickel or safety.  As long as I am on field; I feel I can be very productive.  First I need to get through one practice then one week of practices then a month of practices, then one game and game after that.  The only goal this year for me is to play and get through sixteen games.  I haven’t played football in two years so that is the biggest goal for me.  Whatever else happens after is a plus.”

TWEET OF THE DAY

QUOTABLES

“Josh Brown and David Buehler are competing right now. They’ve both shown some good things. We’re looking for consistency out of that position. Lawrence was consistent and did a nice job, so we’re looking for that and how well they kick off after that is a big factor.” — Special Teams Coordinator Tom Quinn spoke on the kicker competition (WATCH SPECIAL TEAMS PREVIEW REPORT)

Love T2. If he is healthy there aren’t that many better CBs in the NFL. God Speed buddy.

This is it for Terrell Thomas-Produce now-or done!!! He can show signs of being a great CB…But I still have lasting images of the epic collapse in dec 2010 at home vs the Eagles!!!! Secondary needs big help-and I’m hoping a healthy T2 will be the fix!!! BIG BLUE!!!

Giants should sign brown at safety , cut will hill cut Corey Webster and pickup poll which was just waved by Seattle. This is the 2 nd suspenion for will hill, we don’t need him if he can not be available. Corey Webster got slow , we can havemoney available for salary cap and sign polk or pick another cornerback

T2 has worked hard to come back, should have shot to compete. If he could stay healthy through preseason, we should give him the shot,or just have him come in in the nickel package. Aaron Ross is back, the giants should of got another bigtime cornerback , like they said they were going to.

Will Hill can be the wild card of the Giants secondary. He’s a mean hitter who brings attitude. The Giants just need to see him through hod troubles.
