Father’s Day is a busy time in the Manning household. Not only does Archie have his sons, but his two Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks have their own kids to celebrate with as they prepare for a new NFL season.
Eli, in a recent commercial spot, let us in on one of the greatest gifts for his father when they do get together, and it involved boxing.
“Anytime you’ve got three boys in a household, an argument is going to break out,” Eli said. “My dad would kind of like, “All right, you two put your gloves on, you’re going to box. Before we go, you’ve got to punch this bag for three minutes straight.” So we’d be punching, and of course, your arms would be dead and you’re kind of just throwing shoulders at each other and you end up on the floor laughing. Problem solved, and you’re back to having a good day. Now when I walk by and I see boxing gloves, I think I’ve got to make sure my dad has got a couple boxing gloves to solve some of these issues with all the grandchildren.
“It’s really hard to get together, but the greatest gift I can ever give my dad for Father’s Day is just time and spending it together. And that’s what we try to do every year.”
