Daily Blitz: Rolle accepts all challenges

Posted by Dan Salomone on December 19, 2012 – 9:00 am

rolleIn their “second season,” the Giants are 2-2 since the Week 11 bye, having alternated wins and losses. They are, however, on the down end of that trend, and Antrel Rolle was asked on his weekly WFAN spot what happened in the 34-0 loss to Atlanta.

“Basically nothing, nothing happened on our end,” Rolle told Joe and Evan on Tuesday. “I really don’t know. It just seems like wherever there’s an up, there’s a down, and I think that pretty much causes us to be a very inconsistent team. It just seems like no matter what phase of the game it was, they were extremely successful and we were very unsuccessful.”

As the Giants prepare for the Ravens – a team that has clinched a playoff spot but has lost three games in a row – Rolle won’t make any comparisons to last year’s Super Bowl run.

“We accept all challenges as Giants,” Rolle said. “We made it hard for ourselves, we made our own bed, and now we’ve got to go lie in it.”

He added: “A lot of talk is, ‘Well, the Giants have done it before , this is what they’re known for.’ Let me tell you, every year presents a different challenge. Every year, the team is going to be a different team. There is no crystal ball. There is no saying that things will happen the same way they did last year. We’ve got to go out there, we’ve got to make it happen.”

From Wisconsin, but have been a Giants fan for 30 years. The G-Men stuck it to the Packers and the Saints, but seemed to lie down for the Falcons. I can always tell when they are going to lose in the first 5 minutes. They come out flat and the D-line doesn’t get any push. Hopefully Coughlin kicks em’ in the rearend and they come out and tear some heads off! Stayin’ blue til the day I die! GO GIANTS!

I don’t know if they have injuries we don’t know about or they are burned out or what but the “best D Line in the league” has looked barely average all year. No fear anymore. And that includes JPP.

I am a diehard Giants fan for 40 years from Michigan. I just want to say I hope we win the next 2 games and get in the playoffs, but there definetly needs to be changes for next year. I think we need good linebackers, something Reese has neglected for years, and it shows. We need a couple of good cornerbacks maybe Reese can get a good free agent corner. We also need a couple good Offensive lineman, and we need a couple of solid Defensive tackles somebody that can stop the run. I think offensively we are ok lots of talent with the skilled position. With all that being said if we play our game there is no reason we cant repeat as super bowl champs GO GMEN.

I write from Argentina with my family encourage men G all parties, we are amazed at how easily the Atlanta destroyed the Giants, I miss planning? heart lacking in offensive players?, equipment is worn? We are concerned the future ahead of the playoffs, as San Francisco can win and lose with the Redskins in the last game?, TC must take matters into Giants are great for losing 34-0 to the Giants going Giants GOGOGOGOGOGO always Vistoria

kevin gilbri should use his tightends more in his offense with Bennett, pascoe and beckham to confuse defenses
