In wake of the devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy, Dave Matthews Band has pledged $1 million to regional recovery efforts. The group is turning its November 30th winter tour opener – the first of two nights at the IZOD Center – into a benefit concert. The Live Nation presented event will feature special guest Jimmy Cliff.
All proceeds from the November 30 show, including ticket sales and merchandise, will go to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund. Proceeds from tickets that were purchased prior to the announcement of the benefit will also be donated to the Fund. The Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund has been established at the Community Foundation of New Jersey to support immediate and long-term regional recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The event will raise significant dollars for much needed long-term recovery, and the Community Foundation is committed to helping the money raised greatly impact the communities in our region.”
