Daily Blitz: Eli searches for the “right style”
Posted by on November 13, 2012 – 9:00 amDespite the two-game skid, despite the lull in the offense, despite having teams like Green Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta and Baltimore on the other side of the bye week, this is when the quarterback feels he and his team have a great opportunity to prove themselves.
“That’s what you want to get excited about,” Eli Manning told Mike Francesa on Monday during his weekly report on WFAN. “You want to get excited about, hey, where do we stand in this league, in the NFL, and you want to play these good teams and see if we can go out there and win some big games. That’s when you get excited. You play a good team and you earn that win, you get excited about those. We’re going to look forward to that.”
The 6-3 Packers, winners of four straight, are the first on the slate after the bye. Until then, the Giants will try to recapture that winning style.
“I feel very confident about this team,” Manning continued. “I think we’ve got great character guys, guys who have great passion for football and their commitment to their craft and getting better and they want to have a big year. They want to have a great season. We want to make the playoffs, and whatever it takes we’re going to commit to it and we’re going to find it.
“Hey, we’re searching for that right style, for that right way for us to win football games. And we’re going to keep grinding away until we find it.”

I love this guy. Thank God Eli never ever listens to the noise. Instead, he always looks ahead and is almost manically focused on his team. A rare man. True leader.

I am not impressed by “big games” although athletes often are. As a non-professional athlete, I treasure what most coaches (I believe) value and that is consistency. Win the next game, try to make sure there is a next game and, if there is a “final” game, then win it, seems the dogged approach. Of course, lacking competitive football talent, my opinion has no experience behind it, in expecting such performances, but I cannot help but feel that “big games” is a bastardization of the above concept.

I still cannot believe that the biggest story is being left out! What about the roumor that Tebow is going to be a Giant. I dont know how such a huge story can be completely ignored! And how awesome it would be when it happens

Why the heck would we want Tebow? We don’t need the distraction! Dear God let it NOT happen!

Ok, seriously, TEBOW!!! That is the furthest thing from the truth. The only place you will hear such rumors is in a 3rd grade recess session. We have not, and will not, even entertain such an idea. Manning has been a solid QB and leader. To bring in TEBOW would be a waste, and a repeat of the mistake the JETS have done. The TEBOW comment was probably made by someone who watches more TMZ than football.

Tebow can play if he was to play TE best fit for him in NFL
