SPOTLIGHT:

Daily Blitz: Never Say Never Moment of the Week

Posted by Dan Salomone on September 18, 2012 – 9:00 am

After the thriller in MetLife Stadium on Sunday, it’s safe to say Eli Manning and the Giants delivered some of the NFL’s most exciting moments of the week. Pleasing both Giants fans as well as his fantasy owners, Manning’s performance in the comeback win against Tampa Bay has him nominated for both the “GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week” and the “FedEx Air Player of the Week.”

GMC NEVER SAY NEVER MOMENT OF THE WEEK: WEEK 2

Facing an 11-point deficit in the third quarter, the defending Super Bowl champions were in need of someone to step up to avoid a 0-2 start. What happened next could be an early defining moment in the Giants’ season. QB Eli Manning was nearly flawless in the second half as New York rallied past Tampa Bay. In the end, after a tough first-half for the quarterback, it turned into an historic performance, as Manning finished the game with 510 yards passing, three touchdowns and the come-from-behind 41-34 victory. Other nominees: Kevin Kolb (Cardinals), Michael Vick (Eagles) VOTE HERE

FEDEX AIR & GROUND PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: WEEK 2

Manning finished his day going 31 of 51 for 510 yards and three touchdowns. Manning’s efforts helped lift the Giants to their first victory of the season defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-34. Manning’s 510 yards passing rank second all-time by a Giants QB. Other nominees: Andy Dalton (Bengals), Sam Bradford (Rams) VOTE HERE
