Vote for Player of the Game
Posted by on August 24, 2012 – 10:53 pmThere were plenty of key contributors in Friday night’s third preseason game against the Bears. Vote for who you think had the biggest impact.
1) QB Eli Manning – The two-time Super Bowl MVP was all about efficiency against the Bears. In a full half of work, Manning went 17-for-21 for 148 yards and 1 touchdown in the third preseason game of 2012.
2) RB David Wilson – Fans, coaches, and Wilson himself were all anxious to see how the first-round draft choice faired against a first-team defense. He flew out of the gates with 66 total yards in the first quarter, finishing with 75 on the night. He tallied 46 rushing yards on five attempts (long of 20) and 29 yards receiving on two catches (long of 29).
3) WR Ramses Barden – Recording his first touchdown ever – preseason or otherwise – the fourth-year wideout scored on an 11-yard slant from Manning. He finished the night leading Giants receivers with 46 yards on three catches.
4) Da’Rel Scott – Special teams made its presence known on Friday night. Scott blocked a punt late in the first half deep in Bears territory, leading to Andre Brown’s touchdown. He also added 14 yards rushing on three attempts and a catch for 12 more.
5) LB Mark Herzlich — On the ensuing kickoff, Herzlich made another special teams play, forcing a fumble. On defense, the second-year linebacker also led the team with eight total tackles.
