Daily Blitz: MetLife Stadium testing automated security system

With the Giants’ first home game of the season this Friday, some fans will experience an upgraded security screening system at MetLife Stadium.
The two tenants – the Giants and Jets – are testing the new, automated system for preseason games and other events in August and September.
The developers at Qylur Security Systems say, according to the Associated Press, that it is faster and less intrusive than being searched by security personnel. Fans using the system will walk through what looks like a plexiglass doorway to be screened while anything they carry is checked by a machine.
Able to handle five times the crowd flow, the kiosk is completely automated and self-service, having been recently demonstrated at the World Cup FIFA preliminary draw event in Rio de Janeiro.
